The players wear full protective equipment like hockey players but ringette uses a unique stick, ring and face mask.  Ringette players wear jerseys but wear long pants instead of short pants and socks like hockey players do.  The goalie uses regular goalie equipment but in ringette some goalies use a unique catching glove.

The following is required equipment:

  • CSA approved helmet
  • CSA approved face shield or ringette cage (not a hockey cage!)
  • BNQ approved neck guard with bib
  • shoulder pads/chest protector
  • elbow pads
  • hockey gloves
  • practice jersey (player's choice)
  • ringette girdle (hip and tailbone protection)
  • jill strap (the female version of the jock)
  • shin pads with knee guards
  • ringette pants
  • hockey skates
  • ringette stick (no cut-off hockey sticks!)
  • mouthguard (recommended)

Most equipment should be readily available at sporting stores and used sports equipment stores.

NWVRA Uniform Requirements
  1. Uniforms (jerseys and/or pants) are to be worn for games/tournaments only!   NOT for practices.

  2. No application of anything else to the uniform except for the surname badge which is to be sewn on only.  DO NOT GLUE.  Your name badge is to be removed before handing it in to your manager at the end of the season.

  3. Uniforms (jerseys and pants) are to be washed inside out in cool water, no bleach and hung to dry.  NO DRYER USE AT ALL (this will melt the decals).

  4. All uniforms are to be handed in to the manager clean, washed, looking and smelling good!

  5. The best way to keep the jersey from being damaged is to store it in a different  pocket in your child's equipment bag, away from the skates.
THANK YOU!
